Enhancements

• Width of ring increased and changed to dark blue to enhance the readability of the text. Outer ring added. Typeface changed.

• Word ‘FOUNDED’ removed, having the date on its own provides good balance ensuring a focus on the club name.

• Small football icons replaced with circles and relocated to  improve proportions.

• Inner shield adjusted to suit the shape of the ship icon.

• Lightning bolts removed to provide more white space.  

• Sailing ship icon redrawn in black making it the focus feature.

New Design

• No specific design brief requirements.

• White horse theme retained with a redrawn icon of a rearing horse.

• Dark green colour retained and combined with a vibrant lighter green.

• Curved dividing line adds a contemporary feature. 

• Modern sans serif typeface matches the style of design.

• Slight increase to the width of the outer ring combined with yellow text on black background enhances the readability of the text.

• Having the date without the word ‘FOUNDED’ provides good balance ensuring a focus on the club name.

• Stars reduced to two and re-positioned.

• Minor adjustments to the windmill sails to enhance a sense of perspective.

Enhancements

• Distinctive border theme of the shield is retained but simplified, it is less busy and no longer competes with the main crab icon.

• Crab icon redesigned with the rugby ball incorporated within the crab. The reference to rugby is more subtle and also gives space to include the date within the shield. This improves the proportions of the emblem.

• Serif typeface changed to a wider choice to improve readability. 

• Text curve adjusted to be less severe, this improves balance and proportion.

New Design

• A minimalist monochrome design incorporating traditional shapes with a fresh timeless feel.

• Swan remains the focus of the design with the creation of a new stylish icon.

• Contemporary sans serif typeface provides good readability. 

• Addition of date

• Addition of the crown, a reference to swans being associated with royalty. It also signals an aspiration to be crowned champions.

New Design

• The combination of the hockey sticks incorporated as part of the shield shape and the vibrant blue and red colours ensures they become the focus of the emblem. 

• Text is a clean contemporary sans serif typeface.

• The small crown icon links the sticks and club name. 

• A distinctive and memorable emblem.
